Hi there,

I am one of the ward missionaries of the Harbour Pointe Ward and we see the Elders several times a week whether for splits, correlation meetings or taking them to and from church. Whatever they need we make sure they are taken care of.

We wanted to say hello and thank you so much for raising a worthy young man to go on a mission. We had your son and his companion, Elder Sears over today for dinner and we talked about families and what they have done for us to get us where we are today. He is a joy in our ward and truly dedicated to missionary work. Always has a smile on his face… (We had NY steaks with sautéed mushrooms, baked potato, corn on the cob, French bread, great salad, and a brownie with ice cream and hot fudge drizzled on top. We sent them home with extra brownies.

If we talk extra care of the missionaries, we know someone else is watching out for our son who is currently serving in the China, Hong Kong Mission. He has been out for 17 months and time just flies by. It does get easier. (My wife Connie told me to say that.) We did not want you to freak out not receiving an email on Monday. (My wife also told me to say that.) If my wife does not receive a letter by a designated time frame, she starts looking for the mission home phone number.. HaHa..

Just a quick reminder that the libraries are closed tomorrow for Memorial Day and you will receive an email on Tuesday instead on Monday this week.

Again thank you so much for raising a great young man.

May you reap many blessings during the next 2 years because of the dedication of your son. I will send a notice to add you on Facebook so you can see a few updates every so often. I will also have my wife add you as well. If you have any questions or concerns please let us know and we can take care of anything you need.

Please enjoy a few photos we took just after dinner today, Sunday May 29, 2011. 7:15pm

Sincerely,

Dale and Connie Carey

Dear Mother who gave me life
I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry for not getting you the letter. I am going to mail off my letter today no matter what. I will include all of our investigators and all of the cool stuff that is going on up here.
So guess what......... I AM TRAINING!!!!!!!! I was kind of shocked when President Wilson called me the day before transfers, but at the same time I am way excited. I will show my padawan learner the ways of the "force". Now we just need lightsabers. My Companions name is Elder Sears. He is a dairy farmer from Clifton Idaho. He is a WAY cool guy and he is ready to do the work. I may have killed him on bike the other day but other than that he is doing way good. He likes basketball and video games. He is 19 and his birthday is November 11th I think which means I am just a week or two older than him. Ever since he got here we have gotten LOTS of potential investigators. These greenies definately bring the Spirit with them and also there not tainted from the learned ways of the world.
So we are doing way good up here and we have really high hopes for a lot of these people were working with. And our District is pretty much the exact same other than Elder Shaw leaving for Ferdale and one of the Spanish Elders in our District is now our District Leader.
I love you soooooooooo much and I would write more but I have to get a VERY IMPORTANT LETTER mailed off before I get ran over by a very angry mother that loves me soooo much that she would never to such a thing.
Love
Elder Lynam
Please Forward this to everyone please.
Hey Everyone!!!!!
So, things are still doing really good up here in the Harbour Pointe area. I am now training this transfer!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully I will rear my young padawan learner in the right ways of the force and not lead him astray. All we need now is some lightsabers. We are still working with alot of cool people and we have really high hopes for some of them.
Something that I learned out here is there are alot of less-active people. The things that mainely lead up to in-activity are not nourishing your testimonies. Just like what Alma The Younger said about faith and how it is compared to a seed, we need to nourish our faith in order for it to grow and even stay alive so when the time comes we can eat the fruit of the tree or in other words your testimony (see Alma 32:37-38) There is 3 main ways to keep your testimony flourishing in my opinion.
1. Study the scriptures (especially The Book Of Mormon) every day. Even if it is just for 5 minutes.
2. Pray every day (especially in the morning and at night)
3. Go to Church every Sunday
I promise as you keep doing these things, you WILL keep your testimony and be able to reap the fruits of your testimony when it becomes a tree that bears fruit. I love you guys and make sure to keep being awesome!

What is up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks again for letting me call you and the fam yesterday!!!! It was way awesome to talk to everyone. It really suprised me when Ry Ry answered hahaha. I would love to be home, but it sounds like you all are just boring. So I will keep having fun not playing video games, watching movies, and not seeing any of the honies because all of those things are bad no no's anyway!!!! It was weird to hear everyones voices again. Everyone sounds the exact same. Its understandable because I have only been out for about 6 months. But thats weird also. Im seriously almost done with a 1/4 of my Mission!!!!! But tell everyone else that I didnt get to talk to that I said hi and that their awesome. And also keep working with Ry Ry and the rest of the guys. I really hope the best for all of them. And I really need to write them. And I called Dad and Heather yesterday after I called you. They are all doing way awesome and Dad was really excited to hear from me. Heather really liked how I said happy Mothers day to her and her and me talked for a bit too. Man, I cant wait for Christmas to come so I can talk to everyone again!!!!!

So, everything is going good up here with the work. I am going to start filling you in on all of the cool things that happen and the people we are teaching for now on so here is all the people we are teaching.

1. Tammy- she is a middle aged single lady that has had some problems with smoking and drinking and with schizophrenia. The first time I got there I she seemed kind of scary looking. The apartment totally smelled like smoke. But as the weeks have gone by the people that stared teaching her and me have totally seen her improve more and more everytime that we go over. It is way awesome to because since she has Schizophrenia, she says that she has voices telling her she is a bad person and things like that. And she has all of these fears. And it totally reminded me of what I used to be like. So the time I met her she was afraid of the whole Hell fire and suffering for eternity thing. And we told her that Heavenly Father loves her TOO MUCH to do that to His own daughter. We told her no matter what happens to her in this life, everything WILL be ok in the end. And We told her to just live life and have fun because were only here for a short amount of time. So I have to say thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much again for helping me with overcomeing the whole OCD thing. Because I am now using the advice that you, Jessi, and everyone else has given me to help people. You guys are AWESOME!!!!! So were going to keep working with her and we are still trying to put her on Baptismal date.

2. David- he is a 30 year old guy that was a Former Investigator from a couple of years ago. We are teaching him again and he wants to try to stop smoking. That is the guy when we had a lesson with him and then it started to hail and we had to stay in his house for a bit and we talked to his mom and grandma, and his girl friend about the gospel for a bit. So we hope to get David off smoking and to go to Church with us and to start teaching the rest of his family the lessons.

3. Ken- he is a middle aged guy that is married and has a couple teenagers. I didnt start teaching him but I was there for the second lesson. They comminted him to read out of the Book of Mormon and he told us that he read the first two chapter. Then he started to talk about Columbus and we actually found out that he read the first two books of Nephi......ya! So he seems really promising.

4.Jay and his fam- this is the guy that is African American and how his family is all way cool. He is married and has a young teen and a older teen. We hope the very best for them

I actually have to go so I will fill you in on the rest of them in my next Email.

So I love you and make sure to keep working with Roberto.

Hey Mom!!!!!!

First off, I have to say that I am soooooooo sorry for not getting your letter to you yet I will get it to you ASAP. So heres the info about Mothers day call thing. I get to talk to you for about 45 minutes I think. We dont get out of Church until 330pm and we dont get home until about 4. So we should be able to call you at 4 and I will let Elder Shaw go first because his mom was wanting him to call at 3 and I will call at 3:45. So you get to hear how manly and awesome my voice is now. I would show you my awesomeness of my beard but I have to shave 4 times a day in order to keep it under control So speaking about pics, I will send you the pics this week with a key paper telling you who is who.

So other than that I hope everyone is doing good and I would love to talk to everyone if I have a chance to. Tell them all that I said hi and that I love them and how ridicuously good looking I am!!!! So love you and keep being awesome!!!

Love Elder Lynam (line-em-up)

Also I think that I can call you today for about 5 minutes to set up when and where everyone is going to be when I call on Mothers Day. SO WE GET TO TALK TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will do my best to keep it at 5 minutes. Man, its going to be weird to call home. I will try your cell phone and if that doesnt work I will keep trying your work and other places until I get ahold of you. Love you again and HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please forward this to everyone please

Hey everyone!!!!!

I hope everything is going good with all of you guys. I am doing really good up here in the Harbour Pointe area. We actually Baptized one of our investigators on Monday!!!!!! And we confirmed him and the other person we Baptized last week this sunday so now its official. The Elders before me, especially Elder Shaw, did a really good job getting these people ready for Baptism. We are still working with all of our other awesome investigators and we actually are hoping to put on of them on date this week so if you could give us a few prayers that would be way awesome. But other than that everything has been good up here. It was way sunny for a few days so we were all dancing happily through fields of flowers on top of unicorns while the sunrise was in the backround...........um......ya. So on that note love you all and hope everything is going good with you all. Remember to keep reading everyday, say your prayers, and go to Church on Sunday, especially this Sunday!!!!!!!!!

Love Elder Lynam

P.S. I was kidding about the whole unicorn thing, it was actually a mystical flying Liger.

WAZ UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First off, I have to say thank you sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much for the Easter package. Elder Shaw wont stop shooting me with marshmellows.   I loved the candy, the food, the MONEY and I really loved the quotes that you sent. Those are reallly good ones. Are they in the Missionary Quote Book.( And that book is way awesome too!!) The CD's are awesome. I have sooooo much music now.  I also now have " non lame music". And all the other stuff that was in there was way cool!!!!!! You have provided me and Elder Shaw many days of entertainment. So thanks again so much for doing all that. I seriously love it how you are willing to put that much effort and time into making a package that is HUGE!!!!!! And thanks again for putting stuff in there for Elder Shaw, he didnt get anything from home for Easter. You are soooooooooo awesome Mom!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So heres whats been happening here so far. We had Williams Baptism yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was way fun. It didnt really help though that I had a way bad cold.   Me and Elder Shaw were the Witnesses for the Baptism and were going to give him the Gift of the Holy Ghost this coming up Sunday. Hes a way cool kid and a really humble kid too. There are so many punks out there and hes definately not one of them. His family was there. His mom is a less active member and his sister is not Baptized........yet.  and his moms boyfriend is very interested in the Gospel. We want to teach him, but his English isn't very good so we need to get a Korean translater if we want to teach him. And today we are going to Baptize Steve!!!!!!!!!!!! Elder Shaw is going to Baptize him and were going to give him the Gift of the Holy Ghost on Sunday with William. So I will definately let you know how the Baptism goes and I will send you letters of both Baptisms.(aren't you so proud of me for taking pics of everything). And we are teaching some really cool people here. We got in with an African American family the other day and taught them the Restoration. They were way open and we commited the parents to read from The Book Of Mormon. We really didnt emphasize the kids of reading it with the parents so next time we need to do that. To me, it seems that African Americans are really humble and nice people. We white people are sometimes really stuck up and dumb. We hope the very best for them and we are going to teach them this Friday I think. So, I think thats pretty much it for the updates on this area. We hope that these investigators will go far.

So, hows everything else doing back at home? I would ask you alot more questions, but I would be cutting into the time that I would be writing my mother who gave me life and actual hand written letter. So I don't think that would be a very wise decision.

So I love you sooooo much and thank you again for all the stuff that you do for me. I must go now because the time to write "hand written letters" is very short and very precious!!!!

Love
